i'm just about to downgrade my psp to 1.50 and then use CFW 3.40 OE-A, but now i see there are new CFW's around the place. First i came across the 3.40 LE-A thats been released since Dark_Alex left the bulding and that looked a reasonable option, but now i see there is a 3.52 LE-A out. so should i just go with Dark_Alex's 3.40 OE-A, or try out the CFW Expansion 3.52 LE-A that i've came across. IF i even can, that is.

main choices:

3.40OE-A - very good compat for homebrew, some games >3.40 will not work (eventually), and the no-UMD mode is reasonable not brilliant

3.52 M33-2 - 99% no-UMD mode and of course 3.52FW so all games work with it. can cause some issues with some homebrew

3.40* LE (wildcard) - like 3.40OE-A but with a couple of extras (iuncluding snazzy recovery mode)

i am on 3.52 M33-2 as i love the no-UMD and prefer the highest FW possible

1.52>2.0>1.5>3.40 OE-A>3.71 M33-4
3.60>4.01 M33-2

So it just means i wouldn't be able to play UMD's in it anymore ? Mmmm. If i get it running homebrew then i wouldn't be planning on buying any more games over the counter anyway so that does sound ok. Do you have a link where i can find the CFW you ar using ? And thanx for the info mate. Respect

No, he meant "99% no-UMD mode" as in 99% of the game ISO's don't require a UMD in the drive to play. UMD's will still all work.

Thanx mate, that cleared that up. So everyone is going to have to upgrade at some point anyway it seems. Once i have downgraded to 1.50 am i able to install different CFW's after each other to see which one prefer or am i stuck with the first CFW i install ?

No, you can upgrade custom firmware's like official updates, eg: 1.50 -> 3.40 OE-A -> 3.52 M33. Though if you want to go back to a lower custom firmware you will have to use recovery to get back to 1.50, eg: 1.50 -> 3.52 M33 -> 1.50 -> 3.40 OE-A.

Well, it's advisable you backup your flash files (flash0) anyway.

The recovery to 1.5 option is just like an upgrade or downgrade, and you need to get a file to do it.

Tbh, i don't know of any links or whatever, but it's pretty easy (Note you can only do it in custom firmwares), you just have to enable flash0 USB in Recovery menu:

1) Fully turn off your PSP (not just sleep).

2) Hold R and turn the PSP back on, keep holding R until the recovery menu comes up.

3) Connect a USB cable from your PC to your PSP.

4) Go into the "Advanced" menu and then "Toggle USB (flash0)".

5) If the window doesn't come up automatically on your PC, go into my computer and select the PSP drive.

6} Copy all the files in the drive to a safe place on your computer.

7) If you ever semi brick place those files back on your PSP.

Yes, the Recovery menu is only built into custom firmware.
