Nerf wireless controller help

I bought this nerf orange wirelss controller on ebay ad it doesn't seem to be responding. The transmitter on the console lights up red I assume this is to show that it senses a controller in range but I need to enter a sequence into the controller to get it working, in other words, program it to the console. Please tell me if this is true. If it is, can someone please tell me how to program it and if what I said is not true, can you tell me how to make it work?

Normally with wireless deviced you have to press a sync button on the receiver to put it into detection mode, then you press another similar button on the controller to link the 2 together.

you have to press a little button in a pinhole and do something. I can't remember. I called the manufacture. They help you.
