Hey guys, I just installed my first mod chip, and the systems LED will light up, but the system itself won't boot when I push the power button. Does that mean my drive is bricked or is a wire on the chip just loose?

Any advice is appreciated.

Did you make sure that you connected all of the wires back?

Thanks for the response. There was a short somewhere (not sure where) so I desoldered all the wires and checked for shorts on all the points. Now the WII is able to turn back on (thankfully).

However, the Wiinja chip is totally fried (shorts between any legs you pick), but luckily I ordered a spare chip.

My hypothesis is one of the wires came back on, and we resoldered it on without checking for shorts with the multimeter (visually looked ok). So, we'll just be more careful this time.

HOWEVER! I had one more question.

We found that for some reason there's continuity between the reset pin and the metal case inside the WII. Why is there a short here, and is there supposed to be?

We're guessing it has something to do with the reset function, but I just want to make sure that's supposed to be that way.

Thanks in advance.

Ok, so we desoldered the wires, and checked for continuity, and every point was clean. After soldering the 5 wires back on, I'm just getting shorts all over the place. Visually the solder is perfect, there's no flux or solder or anything between any of the points, but I still get high continuity readings (400+) between almost every point I check. What does this mean?
