Hi guys

I recently bought a pc which has a dvd writer drive, and a dvd rom drive.

So i thought i might backup a few of my dvd's from my collection but,the software installed is Pinnacle systems instant CD/DVD,when i went to copy the DVD onto a DVD RW disc i got a message saying "This DVD is CCS Copy protected" and that the software only allows copying of non protected DVD's.

So i ask you guys what program should i download which will allow me to copy my DVD's onto DVD-RW discs without this copy protection problem, and how do i use the program successfully?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm new,so help please!:-)

DVD Shrink. This will rip the movie and shrink it to fit a 4.7gb disc.

You can also use dvd decypter to rip and DVD2One to shrink but dvd2one=£££

Thanks Rotary i done everything in the guide and it seemed to work fine until i went to add the file to the disc ready to burn and it said "You have added DVD content to a compilation type which will not result in a DVD video compliant disc"

I followed every step correctly as far as i know

I'm new,so help please!:-)

hi

nero v6 is weird it either works or not! 50/50

yes you have 2 options just burn and see after it complains i know someone who does this! or try dvd-video tab instead! none work for me! but some people it does

if you have v5 it works for 99%

I use shrink v3.0 beta 5, then I put the files (re-authored and/or compressed to less than 4.3 gigs, the bar is green) into a folder I named VIDEO_TS on my hard drive. Then I use the smartstart portion of nero6 to burn them to a disc. Once you open smartstart you have to click on "photo and video" icon then "make a DVD-video", at the next screen, click "add video files" Put your VIDEO_TS files in (ADD) and you should be able to burn a movie. Try using a DVD+/-R/W so you can use it again if it doesn't burn properly. Make sure your Nero6 is the latest version. Follow the users guides! I've been burning discs for about a week now after a week of trying. This is what works for me.
good luck!

PART 5 of nero guide is wrong! it should be iso level 1 but iso level 2 may work?

When you use decryptor, the default is to only rip the movie and not the extras. You need to select all the files to get the extras also. However if you do select all the extras, it will probably be too big and need to be compressed with DVD Shrink or DVD2One.

If you are going to compress, you can start out with shrink because it will rip and compress and save you the step of using decryptor.
