Are DVD +RWs bad for slim PS2s Lens??

I have a Pstwo slim. My PC DVD writer can only write DVD+r and rw. At the moment I have a batch of Phillips DVD +RWs and a now useless batch of Imation DVD-rs. I have a burned a dvd onto one of the +RWs. I intend to burn back ups onto them in the future. My question is ...is playin DVD +RWs bad for the ps2 lens and how bad.Any Precautionary meausures i can take? What else should I do?

Yes RW disc are bad for your ps2 laser. In extreme cases I've heard of it frying the laser upon boot up. Use +R, but booktype to DVD-ROM. +R are cheaper then RW anyway so that should be a plus.

If you use dvd decypter you just lcick on the little book next the the burn speed and select the burner you have. Booktyping to DVD-ROM creates better compatiblity since original ps2 games are DVD-ROMs.
