HELP .NEWBIE HERE. UMD GONE AFTER 3.52 update

I folweed allinstructions to a t. I loaded dev.046 and the 3.25m33 files . Now it does not recognize my UMD drive nor does it load the games . I can see the games but i get error 800010002.game could not be started

well first off,you dont need devhook if you are running custom firmware...so if your UMD drive doesnt work now-you should run the 1.50 recovery winstaller (google it) and then reflash your 3.52M33--

-another option to try before doing all of that is format your memory stick to get rid of that devhook nonsense, and then go to your system settings menu and "restore default settings"-see if that works, if not then you'll have to reflash...

I dont understand why peoeple are compelled to continue to use devhook in conjunction with a custom firmware. Its a bit superfluous, dont you think?

Because they usually have no idea what they are doing. There are ton's of devhook guides on the internet. Instead of trying to understand how it works and how cfw replaces the need of dev hook, they just jump the gun and throwing everything on their psp hoping at lease some will stick... no wonder so many bricks out there.
