ok i am at the moment at 3.40 oe-a and i was wanting opinions on wat would be good to go from their. like is the m33 really as good as the oe's and can i still do all the stuff with the m33''s that i can with dax's cfw.

stay on 3.40 oe-a. i regret going to 3.52 M33 alot now. i like only the np9960 or w.e no umd thing and i also like the recovery menu....but i still like 3.40 oe-a.

3.40OE-A is the best as of today. However, because Dark_Alex is gone and his research won't be continued, it's just a matter of time before Team M33 actually gets it right. Also, because there will be no more OE custom Firmware, as newer and newer games require higher Firmware to run, we will at some point require M33 custom Firmware to run our games. But stick with 3.40OE-A. When M33 releases update 3 for 3.52, let someone else be the ginny pig and test it. Once they give their opinion, assuming they know know what to look for, then try it out if it gets positive feedback.
There is no excuse NOT to mod! Don't follow the rules, make them!

Custom firmwrae 3.40 Leaked Edition looks good. i don't trust m33 anymore. how hard is it (from someone who can make firmware's point of view) to make use of a battery icon!

I'm hearing a lot about this Leaked Edition. You are aware that it is nothing more than an add-on to 3.40OE-A with a nicer GUI. The Recovery Mode looks nicer, but that is really it. Even in the instructions, you need Dark_Alex's 3.40OE-A before installing. Most CFM reqiure 1.50 or a lesser Firmware with 1.50 EBOOT and whatever version EBOOT the Firmware is. This Leaked Edition doesn't require it, therefor, it is nothing more than an add-on to the already perfectly stable and working 3.40OE-A. No offense merlino. (*Don't want to piss off the "senior member" ... or moderators for that matter*).
There is no excuse NOT to mod! Don't follow the rules, make them!

yeeeeaaaaaaaa.....umm none taken :( i know what it is, i have looked into it alot... i spend the majority of the day looking at it. but i really don't like M33...something about it... it could say at least like ....FE instead of M33... theres IE...OE...LE...etc and M33 :| it is a good firmware though....if you're going to stay on 3.40 oe-a then you might as well try 3.40 LE out... when did i say that you didnt need 3.40 oe-a though? and it isnt really an expansion.... you make a data.dxar and everything. it has a different recovery mode and stuff...but not really an expansion.

That's not what I'm saying. It is built off of 3.40OE-A. I have installed it before and examined the EBOOT and installer process. The source code it is written is so very similar to the source code of 3.40OE-A. It even says in the readme.txt to install LE, you need 3.40OE-A to begin with. Every other CFM I've come across offers an OE install and 1.50 install. LE is the first that requires the lastest OE to install before hand. The biggest (*cough* only) difference is the GUI, which anyone who has the source code to 3.40OE-A and a working knowledge of how it works can modify that. I'm just saying that they're taking credit where credit isn't do. They didn't build this CFM from scratch, it's really a take-off.

if you are talking about 3.40* LE (by wildcard) then you have your facts wrong. the wildcard team reversed the OE firmware from the ground up, then their source code was leaked so they had to release LE (leaked edition). They are a group of many talented coders. At the moment the LE is NOT what they wanted it to be, it is unfinished and almost identical to OE (as you say). The main differences at the moment are the different recovery menu (which can also be accessed from XMB)and the auto-detection of kernel (no need for game150, game340 folders etc).
the exciting time will come when they release 3.52* (if they do) as there are some really cool features planned.

I don't trust it. Why would they have to reverse engineer it when Team M33 and D_A already did. Yes I understand that it's a leaked version, but by the sound of you, I'm sure you know the source codes are very similar. The major differences being the GUI and the added autodetection they added to the kernel's functionality. I'll admit that must have been difficult to program, but there is just way too many identical code segments.

well. i tried out m33 and didnt like it that much. also ive seen some pictures of the new slimer psp. and they showed a picture that the firmware will be 3.60 do you think that the old psp's will be able to go to that firmware?

I've never heard of team Wildcard...I hope they can make version like 3.60(when it comes out)into 3.60OE-A by hexing it...I don't like M33 either.It makes me think that they're tying to replace Dark_AleX...Team wildcard sounds better because they made a version using the 3.40OE-A.Makes me think they're trying to help D_X or something.I'm worried about new games that requires new version...Lots is changing after DAX left.It seems like Sony is winning over CFWs...

yeah of course!just because the new psp is out doesnt make the old psp rubbish.same features apart from the look of it and tht tv thing.
