i downloaded this clip. when i open it in VLC it tells me i need to get the vodei codec which i have but it only works on windows media player. But thats not the problem. When i try and convert the clip so that i can burn it to a dvd, the clip/message is what converted. what should i do?

If it's an AVI clip, drag it on to GSpot, try to see which codec it needs and if it's installed on the PC.
In the example, the Video codec is XviD and it's installed.
You can also try to play the file using the buttons.
