Hi i just joined up with your site today but i have been using it for info for a long time. I found a game that i want to download on to my psp. I followed the steps in the mother of psp guides but i cant get it to work. I downloaded all the fils and copied dh and psp in to my mp_root file and then went to games and nothing showed up?. i tried everything i can think of i changed the name fro mp to ms and still nothing. the guide is very good for someone who has some idea of what they are doing but i really dont have a clue. for example when it says "copy dh and psp to the root of your memory stick" i am not even sure what the root of my memory stick it.
so i am asking if someone can post or email a deatiled step by step guide to help me. all i want is to play championship manager 07 on my psp
If you don't know how to check, scroll all the way to the left on your PSP and go down to System Settings; click on it. Then go to System Information (second from the bottom) and click on it. Under system software, tell me what it says (for example, mine is 3.40 OE-A).
If it is 3.51 or 3.52, then you cannot play downloaded games on your PSP. If it's anything from 2.81-3.50, then you need either the game Lumines or the game Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (it has to be unpatched; i.e. an older version of the game) to be able to get to a firmware that allows you to play downloaded games.
If it's 1.51-2.71, then you can get to a compatible PSP without the need of any games, just tell us what your Firmware is and, if you can, we'll help you get to a homebrew compatible PSP.
Sony firmwares are not made for that, you have to use an OE version, Open Edition, for example 3.40 OE-A, I dont have the links, but google it... you will need to look for a downgrader to 1.5, the best solution is to upgrade to 2.80, then in 2.80 get the 2.80 HEN and then downgrade to 1.5 after that you simple upgrade to 3.40 OE-A
Dont ask me for references, I am half asleep can only tell you steps to follow you would need to look for files and read me docs.

NO, do not do this. There is a 2.0 downgrader that will work much better.
Click on the SHOW button in the 2.01 PSP/2.00 PSP section; it'll provide you with a list of files that you need, as well as links to get them, and it has great instructions on how to get to 1.50.
Now, once you're at 1.50, you need to upgrade to a custom firmware; my favorite is 3.40 OE-A. An easy installer is available HERE. (click on the 340oeEasy.exe with the arrow pointing to it towards the bottom of the page.)
Then, follow the guide HERE. You now have a PSP that can play whatever.
