Welcome back to the scene friend....A lot has changed since you've been gone...I would recommend upgrading to a custom firmware such as 3.40OE-A, and there is also a new one that was recently released: 3.52M33...I would go with the 3.40OE, as it is the most stable at the moment..You can find the winstaller HERE -Similar to using devhook, but instead of emulating a higher firmware, you are actually using it...Most iso games require having a UMD inserted still, and there is a recovery mode now to change the processor speed, and other features...Give it a try...

It is about damn time to find a senior member still loyal to OE. I'm tired of everyone jumping on the M33 train with only their second update released.

There is no excuse NOT to mod! Don't follow the rules, make them!

I here ya, it gets on my nerves to. In my opinion while what team M33 does is good for the scene, I believe the cheap out on there work. You see how long it took DarkAleX to release a custom firmware and how stable it was and how you could customize it. And then you see team M33 pumping out custom firmwares like no other, and then you have to update 7 times to be recent, and on top of that customizing the XMB doesn't work correctly. Stick to OE until there is better out. And on that topic...

I have recently tried out Team Wildc*rd's 3.40 LE firwmare and was pleasently surprised. It works just like 3.40 OE-A used to, but with some great new features. Like a (i.m.o) cleaner/better recovery menu, access to the recovery menu from the XMB which is handy for like quickly enabling/disabling plugins without rebooting among other things. And I believe the LE firmware makes use of the infamous Sony ISO loader, so no need to always be carrying a UMD around. All in all you get the same old stable 3.40 OE-A with a updated recovery menu and a slew of new options/features.

i think you will find that the np9660 driver is not in Wildcard, since it was M33 who patched it.

for me, the 99% no-UMD in M33 is awesome and a big reason why I use it.
i do not do customising however, otherwise I would stick to OE.
anyway, soon the OE will be useless as many new games will require >3.40 FW. lets hope wildcard keep running the race with M33...

1.52>2.0>1.5>3.40 OE-A>3.71 M33-4
3.60>4.01 M33-2

I believe LE firwmare does make use of the np9660 iso loader, because when flashing my firmware a file by the name of np9660 was written to my flash. It would not be that hard for any experienced coder/psp hacker to disassemble team M33's firmware and thus make use of the np9660 iso loader. Also all the iso's I have are working 100% in LE firmware without needing a UMD, this was not possible with OE.

I just saw that LE edition recently on psp-hacks, I was going to ask around and see how its working out for people....I downloaded it, but I have not gotten around to installing it yet..It looks pretty fancy with that new recovery menu-not to mention being able to access it through the XMB! I am happy with 3.40OE though, and as far as the 'No UMD'- I could care less..I just keep a disc in there, and leave it..

It took me a while to even upgrade to custom firmware..I was using devhook and fastloader for what seemed like forever! I figure I'll stick to what works for me, and I'll upgrade when absolutely necessary...I like to play around with themes and whatnot-and I dont want to have to convert all of my rco's just so they can work with M33..

Took the words right out of my mouth. When M33 came out I tried it out and was somewhat pleased. Yeah it uses Sonys ISO loader, and yes it is a newer firmare, but no XMB customization. And that sucks. Then LE came out, offered the same stability as OE, my current custom rco's worked with it, and it also uses the np9660 iso loader. It was a no brainer for me. Its kinda like a 3.40 OE-A service pack. The core OE-A is still there but with a lot of improvements/upgrades.
