Are the best buy verbatims top quality?

I'm planning to pick up a 50pk of verbatims at best buy, but I'm not sure if they come from the same quality stock as the verbatims everyone's touting. If this info is a good indicator, they cost $30; certainly not a cheap price for media.

Secondly, I'm going to pair em up with a slim ps2. DVD+R work better for those right?
