Before you senior/major members get pissed-off about this. Trust me, I have taken this in consideration as I read most of forums on how to write and read .iso files and many others.
My system- Windows Vista Ultimate
What I have; MagicSwap 3.6 Pro and new silver slim PS2 with installed magic keys.
The problem is; I have 100 count of maxwell dvd-rs and magic swap 3.6 cd-rom and dvd. And the new silver slim PS2 with magicswap keys inside (I put them there, obviously). I followed most of post-er's steps on how to back-up a PS2 game. However, after 17 burnt DVD-Rs, nothing seem to be working. My screen still says, "Not a valid PS2 disc." after putting the magicswap dvd/cd inside the PS2. (I quickly took 5 seconds to swap the MagicSwap dvd/cd to burnt dvd-r) I also have tried thrice with memorex DVD+R. I used both Nero and DVD Decrypter.
So... Help? I'm pretty new at backing-up PS2 games
I am also worried about money issues because I'm a poor college student, see why I'm asking for you guys' help because I don't want to put any dvd-/+rs to waste. x_x; $30-$40 is expensive to me.
PS: Oh yeah. I have posted this in somewhere and I didn't get that much of help. So yo, what's up with that?
I don't have a slim ps2 but from what I read about others who have they tend to work better with DVD+R booktyped to DVD-ROM. Of couse the media brand you are using should be the good ones. Don't know bout maxell's but I can tell you Memorex sucks. The best brand to use is Taiyo Yuden, Sony, Or Verbatim.
Immortal5: I have tried with dvd+r and remember that I'm poor.
Marcus370: No. I have checked that it's made from Japan. From what I can see is, it's burnt fine but it won't play on ps2 slim. I think it's probably the magic keys. I'm going to get a fliptop or a case replacement.
just a suggestion but maybe your magic keys are misplaced just enough that the sensors can tell that you open the case therefore not reading your backups I could be totally off though
