hi i conect my laptop to my tv using the s video out. I use an a s video to composite converter enabling me to plug it in the scrt socket. The laptop display however on the tv is black and whit, ive change my setting frm pal to ntsc etc but still no luck any ideas?

Try to go into your Nvidia(or ATI) settings and look around to see if it's set up right. The settings might be located in your Control Panel but i'm not 100% sure where they are.
