PS2 v4 Flip top Installation Problems

Okay, when I use the flip top, it cannot load anything and goes to the browser/system information screen. When i set the flip top aside, being careful with the reset/eject strip, and temporarily put the disc cover back on, it works fine. I have tried adjusting the laser height and reset/eject harness, but I don't see what could possibly be in the way.

Has anyone had this problem before, or can suggest something?

Nevermind, fixed. Anyone with a similar problem, check the flip top hinge spring, it may be sticking out and stopping the disc.
