Who can suggest a Homebrew FPS for PSP that won't need any official
files from the disc and will work on 3.40 OE-A.

theres also rise of the triad,Dukenukem 3d, wolfinstine (3d)? heretic,hexen,hexen 2 , and if roumoers of more ram on the up coming psp slim then probly quake 2 and any thing with quake and or quake 2 game engine that has a source and not too many keys
some day mabey even unreal if it has a source ...

Probably not; at least not for a long time. We haven't even fully cracked 3.03 yet, so chances of the scene cracking 3.6, (Or possibly 4.0) are nearly zilch. The only thing we can hope for is finding a loophole/expolit in one of the games, and even then; it'll probably only run very little homebrew and Sony will most likely make the Slim's non-downgradeable to 1.50.

Yeah thats what i thought, default firmware would be 3.6 or 4.0, so wouldn't downgrading to 1.5 be impossible anyway?

Okay, i tried most of them, and they all play a whole lot like doom. Counterstrike and dungeons don't load, and i would keep doom, but I can only get the shareware version without spending money. Also, I played Rainbow Six Vegas on psp and it's ultra sucky. I'll just stick to Medal of Honour then.
