I don't think you, puma20, understood how to get into Recovery Mode.

Hold the R button and then turn it on by just raising the button once, without holding. Never let go of the R until you reach Recovery Mode. If that works, tell us.

It sounds to me like the LCD ribbon may have came loose..You may have to crack it open and have a look as mentioned earlier...But first make sure and see if you can get into recovery mode before you do anything else....Hold the R trigger button while turning the psp on, and dont release the R trigger button until it either boots into recovery or it shuts itself off...Also try pressing the brightness button (the one to the left of the musical note button) when the psp has been powered up..

Hey guys!
Thank you very much for all the feedback, but I have tried all those things, and I do know how to get in to recovery mode. :)

None of it worked so I sent it to some guy on ebay that can unbrick bricked PSPs.
And I read the different things on PSPs that is called TOTAL BRICK, and not SEMI-brick, and my PSP fitted totally with one of those explanations.

The exact same thing happened to me. This was like a year ago. My girl went to another country (I'm in the US), took my psp. When she came back, it would no longer boot. I ended up buying a used PSP from ebay. Good news is with that new Pandora battery, I was able to restore my bricked PSP.
