I have a 2.4 Gig P4 .processor and 512 DDR RAM. Windows XP.

I can edit with Vegas 4 no problem, but when I go to Render for MPEG2 DVD Architech NTSC format, it will get so far and then my computer goes off. Someone told me this is a RAM issue. If this is the case what do I need to render. Vegas has a minimum requirement of 128 I believe. I am way over that.
What am I doing wrong?
How can I fix this?
By the way, I have went into my CTRL+ALT+DEL and ended all of the Processes that I could and My computer isrunning top notch, but it still shuts down.

As Praetor said, it could be heat related. Encoding is very CPU intensive, and can cause reboots if your PC isn't properly cooled. This is also common if you try to encode with an overclocked processor. Is this an OEM computer or did you build it yourself?

well you can allways render to AVI then use a seperate encoder to encode to Mpeg2 for DVD, Or even better is to use the Vegas 4 Video server to frame serve to an encoder like CCE or any encoder.....Just a thought

I Run a P-4 2.53ghz Processor and 512mb PC2700, and I don"t have any rendering problems with Vegas accept that it is a Little Slow and My Processor only gets to about 40 degrees Celcius when under a Full load But I have a Few case fans....Cheers
