Hope this is the right forum, and that someone can assist.
A couple of questions regarding .avi files which l know you'll be able to answer. (I'm currently using VSO's convertxtodvd which l'm quite happy with, but is pretty basic ie. load film, convert, burn)
First, l have an avi file with dimensions of say,700x240. When burnt and played back on tv, it's like a letterbox. Is there such a program that will increase the 240 size before it is burnt, or do l have to put up with this?
Secondly, an avi file starts off with 10secs of footage that l don't want. Again, is there such a program where l can view the footage, delete it, and then pass it through convertxtodvd.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply Berryone, much appreciated, and l'll have a gander at Nerovision as you suggest. Out of interest then, why is it that for any particular film you download, there are so many different dimension sizes? Beats me!

First off Nero is not going to solve any of the points you mentioned (except maybe to trim 10 seconds off the AVI).

You will need to re-encode the AVI with an app that will allow you to crop/resize. Note to make it full screen means cropping about 30% of the vid off the sides.

You could shorten the AVI and re-encode it (cropping and changing the resolution) with one of the VirtualDubMods with either the Xvid or Dvix installed, then convert to DVD with ConvertX.
