I have a 2.0 psp and I want to downgrade it to a 1.5. can I downgrade my FW my using an unpatched copy of GTA?

SURE! or you can just downgrade using the 2.00 to 1.50 downgrader! its alot easier :P good luck and message here if you need a link or sumthing.

What is the easier way? because I have a unpatched version of gta.
And GTA works on the TA-82.
Does the other way you are talking about work on a TA-82? I am not sure if it is a TA-82 or not yet because I wont be able to check until tonight.
Also is it safer to downgrade with GTA or the way you are talking about?
I want to know the best and safest way to do it. I do not want to brick it.

well i have a ta-082 and i downgraded from 2.71 to 1.5 and i didnt need the gta lcs for that,and im pretty sure its the same for all psp's , i think you only need gta lcs if your firmware is over 2.71,like 2.81 or something then you upgrade to 3.03 and then you use gta lcs to downgrade to 1.5,thats what i did for my other psp.
1.5 > 2.71 > 2.81 > 3.03 >GTA LCS< 1.5 > 3.40oe-a
1 semibrick recovered back to 1.5 > 3.40oe-a
white TA-082 fully bricked using wrong downgrade another white TA-082 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.40oe-a then to 3.52m33 > 1.5 > 3.80 ofw > pandora battery & magic memory stick to get 1.5 then 3.52m33 > 3.71m33 > 3.80m33, psp's still alive!!!

it doesnt matter either use the 2.0 gta downgrader or use the easy 2.71 downgrader where you dont need any game to downgrade like the one that shanemb used
For a While i have escaped time but to return when they need you most to come back on a vendetta like a have thats just simply MAGIC!

I need to know how to downgrade my psp 2.0 do i need to up date my psp to a 2.71 then use the 2.71 easy installer? i need links, guides something.

NO BRO!!! use the easy 2.00 to 1.50 downgrader its alot simpler and less time consuming becasause you dont have to run a exploit like the tiff (i thinnk). but either way you dont have to upgrade.

I'm not entirely sure the 2.00 downgrader works on a TA-082 motherboard, though, marlin...wasn't that the readon the TA-082 was developed?

They were made in response to the 2.00 downgrade, before they knew about the 2.50/2.60 downgrades.

So you think that my safest bet is to just upgrade to a 3.03 (upgrade from psp hacks) then down grade to a 1.5 since the GTA downgrader has a patch for the TA-82? Cause I don?t want to take the chance of bricking. I mean if I have to spend an extra 15 min. downgrading by GTA then I will do it just to be on the safe side.
Just a question what if it was not a TA-82 then I could of used the 2.71 easy downgrader? ( I would have to upgrade from 2.0 to 2.71 and then downgrade to 1.5) or is there a 2.0 downgrader?

Your SAFEST and EASIEST bet will be to downgrade from 2.0. The 2.0 downgrader is the most straight forward and most secure downgrader considering it runs the actual SCE updater instead of a homebrewed one.
EDIT:
No need to worry about if your PSP is ta-082 either. Your firmware is 2.0 so that right there is enough to know it's not a ta-082.

Yeah but who would have a modded psp and choose 2.0 as their firmware when that can choose all the other ones. See my point :D

ok good. is there do you have a good link for the 2.0 downgrader.
and I have not bought the 2.0 psp yet. I am buying the psp today after work from this guy that has only used it once. and he is selling it to me for 60 bucks and a gta. and hopefully that will be a unpatched gta cause then I will have two.
I don't think this guy know very much about psp. and I know I am heartless for buy it so cheap but its not like he is 13. he is a grown man in his 30's. so game on :)
now as far as the the downgrading process goes I need a good guide and a good link to the downgrade software.

yeah i am going to need to take you up on the offer. i need links and anything else that will get the job done and take me to a 1.5
now as far as CF goes i dont know what to get 3.40oe-a or 3.52M33
and if i get 3.52m33 i want to make sure i can downgrade it to 3.40oe-a if i dont like it.
