I usually use winavi to convert my files but it takes me ages. I have dvd shrink and its the same if somewhat a little faster. If it matters i do have fast broadband.

Conversion is fairly processor intensive so if you have an older processor or a less powerful one, conversion will take some time. Some conversion programs are faster than others as well. ConvertXtoDVD is about the best (and fastest) imho.

The easiest solution is to acquire a DVD player that also plays divx files. Most files won't need conversion at all to be playable.
