do you have the Game Cube controller placed in the front of the Game Cube ports?

I think the first Game Cube Port is the 1 at the front of the Wii. So if you have it plugged into the back of the Wii then it is plugged into the wrong port.

Are you sure you have a working Game Cube controller?

yep ive tested the gc pad and works fine, also ive got it connected on port 1 of the wii,but nothing.
also whats strange is that the wiimote doesnt work aswell.

ive loaded the setup disc and original discs which the wii finds on the screen, ive tried pressing buttons on the wiimote but wont go any further.

do i need both remotes connected to load a game or setup disc?

The Wiimotes won't work at all with a setup disk. Try navigatin with the reset button of the console. A sort press to navigate between items and a long press to select them.

The Wiimote will be disabled because the Wiikey setup disc loads in Game Cube mode.

Did you make sure you plugged in all cables when assembling your Wii back together?

You can use the reset on the front of the Wii to navigate through the menu.

This is located in the read me file that comes with the Wiikey download off their site...

Navigation:
============================================
For those without a gamecube controller, both the main menu and the
disc dumper support navigation via the reset button. Pressing reset
for a short time will move the cursor, holding the button for one
second selects the current entry. The included homebrew apps require
a gc controller naturally.

thanks for the info, but when i insert the set up disc i then press A on the wiimote to get past the health n safety warning, then on main screen you see the setup disc in the top left box but cant go any further.
im pressing all buttons on the wiimote and gc pad but nothing.
if the wiikey was installed incorrectly would you be able to see the setup disc on main screen?

Did you connect all 3 cables back into the correct places?

2 of them are on the DVD drive itself and the other connects the front cover. Make sure they are connected and connected correctly.

It's a very strange problem..

You could try re-syncing the wiimotes with the wii. Open the flap on the front of the wii and press the sync button and then press the sync button under the battery flap off the wiimote.
