i want to know should the wii internal fan start spining when you turn the wii on or it just works when system is warm
because my systems fan doesnt spin when i turn the wii on
is it normal?

Your fan should be running when you turn it on.

Help. I'm having the same problem. The Wii was modded with wiikey, backups work fine. Thing is, the Wii, after about an hour or so, gets hot and just shuts off. I uninstalled and reinstalled the wiikey, thinking maybe I had a short or bad install, but problem persists. I noticed that the fan doesn't run at startup; in fact, isn't on at all, so I'm thinking that this is causing the Wii to overheat and thus, shut off. What do you guys think and what should I do? Thanks in advance.

Maybe you disconnected a wire or something? Check everything inside the Wii to make sure it's OK.

Make sure the wire on the fan in back of the wii (When opened) is connected to the board it plugs in right below where it sits, otherwise if using a custom case it plugs into the LED power cord coming from the DVD shield and that further plugs into where the FAN did.
