well trixx you came to the right place. Ok the risks of changing the XMB is bricking. The worst people usually do is semi brick it. Worst possible is a full brick. Now you will want to back up all 6 folders in your flash0 to somewhere on your computer thats easy to reach when you need it. Like your desktop.

Make sure you got the correct theme for the firmware your using. 3.40OE-A is ONLY for 3.40OE-A. Be careful that you pay attention because you dont want to be on 3.30 and get a 3.03 theme. ya know.

After you back up your flash go into your VSH folder and then go into your resource folder.

Before you do anything though. go into your dic folder and delete the 6 dic files in there. Hopefully you dont read Japenese cuz thats what they are the Japenese characters.

From the theme that you have just copy and overwright the the one currently inside the resource. DO NOT go into the kd folder that can potentially fully brick your psp. You should always overwright dont ever delete. That way if you mess up with the custom one you can overwrite it with the original. hope this helps. But if not there is always a readme inside every theme so yeah read that.

you dont neccesarily have to back up flash1. All that is your system information like nickname and other stuff. You can delete that whole flash1 folder and nothing bad will happen. I wouldnt advise it but it isnt harmful. and yes thats all you need to back up. each flash folder has 6 in it. That makes 12. the only important folder is flash0 and those folders.

its just to save space on your flash so the new files have enough room to write
