Bioshock disc problem

Hey, i downloaded Bioshock right. Played it for 4 hours, no problems at all. Saved it, turned off the console. Now i just went to play it again, but when i load my saved game, in the middle of the load screen i get 'This disc is unreadable' yet it hasn't been out anywhere except for when i took it out the burner... anyone else have this problem for any other games??

To bad you downloaded it,but anyways the demo for Bioshock kicked ass

MS and the FBI are comeing to your door and tracking you down. But pretend you were playing a different game: say Forza, i'd say it's a bad disc. But you are not playing Forza 2, you are playing a game that didn't come out yet so. slap.

dude never say download and game in the same sentence people will do what they r doing doing now to u, now as far as ur games thats easy it happens to me all the time ur 360 isnt reading the disc burn slower 2.4 or lower me i burn at 1x work like a charge even on cheap dl also use imgburn cd clone just isnt as good as imgburn n u should b fine

anyways, how do you burn at 1x?
every time i try to burn at 1x the write speed shows 2.4x with clonecd and imgburn.

I have this exact same problem - well, apart from the piracy bit... My BioShock backup worked perfectly the first two times I played it and then I got the 'disc unreadable' error. I even burned another copy and it did the same. All other games work fine.
What gives?!

Well I'm not retarded and a lot of people do have problems playing Bioshock but my problem was that my DVD-Drive laser is weaksauce so I ordered a new one and it works flawlessly now. I was using imgburn with verbatim dvd+r dl with ixtreme 1.2c on a ms28 that was about 3 months old. Guess it was just a case of badluck with me.

Has anyone heard that with Bioshock that there's a bug in it that makes it freeze every 3-5 seconds if you play for more than 3-4hrs? Apparently resetting the console fixes the problem, and it may only be with PAL copies. I'm talking original disc too, not a back-up.

I have an even weirder problem now. Tried to change the power of my drive's laser to read the disc better, then found out that it wasn't that at all; if I remove my hard disk, BioShock runs fine. But with the hard disk, no chance! any ideas?

I noticed a similar problem... Bioshock was the last game I backed up.. it worked for a bit... but now it just says "disk is unreadable". And ever since this game started doing this my other ones are begining to say the same thing. I think I may need a new laser... thats the only solution I can think of.

I've had zero problems with Bioshock. And at most I've played 9 hours straight. And the problems are only happening to a handfull of people. Because it's not happening to everyone (or atleast the majority of users), I'd be more willing to believe it's a problem with the 360 than a problem with the game.

try removing your hard drive and see if it loads then... Works for me! I just have to figure out why so I can save my games...

I have the game and like bhetrick have played it for many hrs with no prob what media are u using and how old is ur 360 may be ttime for a new lazer

i had a proplem with mine freezing a couple times
so this is what i did
tear it apart...open up the drive take some rubbing achohol<----is that spelled right lol
and a cue tip then i cleaned the lens ive had no proplems sence

You could prob use that caned duster and just spray it in the drive instead of taking it apart.

it's all good and thx for the help.
as for the other people with problems, is Bioshock the only game with these problems? when my bioshock didn't work it wasn't alone as madden 08 had the same problem and ncaa 08 but to a much lesser extent. It seems the most recent of games wore out my laser.

UMMM i know gears of war did this with the first batch that came out and they actualy had to give ppl there money back or another copy
