I have recently been using my hard drive by swapping it between my modded and unmodded 360, but when i recently put in my hard drive into my modded 360, it wants to update (there is no network cable attached), have any of you gotten this? Is it ok to proceed with the update because if i dont, it sends me right back to the dashboard.

I've taken my hdd to a friends house and hooked it up to his non-networked 360, and it updated his 360. So ya, it doesn't sound strange.
