I'm using NEC 1300A +/- writer with firmware v1.08 And trying to burn from an iso image.

I'm using Ritek G03 1x discs.

Both DVD Decrypter and Nero 5.5 won't let me burn at 1x.

DVD Decrypter says "Selected write speed = 1x. Actual write speed = 2x"

Nero won't even let me select 1x.

I'm trying to burn 1x to decrease the error rates.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

hi all

Have you been geting errors then? it seems your media is 2x ! just burn at 2x if it likes that! i burn at 4x ritek silvertops it will be the same quality at any speed!

also try dvd srink v3.0beta5 and Nero!

I'm trying to make PS2 backups.
They had been all coasters so far.
I want to burn at 1x because that is what's recommended.

If you are getting coasters at 2x then you firstly need to upgrade to the latest Nero 5.5 which is 5.5.10.54 then you also need to burn in DVD-ROM (UDF/ISO) mode and under UDF checklist make sure the box is checked relating to 'force compatibilty mode for xbox'. Finally try also using another disc brand.
