i want to play my downloaded videos on my lcd tv,if i get a vga cable, what is the story with playback? do i need to switch off pc monitor when i want to watch tv? will the pc play it back through the two of them at same time??

In your video properties, set the second output to TV.

i have seen a 'splitter' so i can conect the two screens,prob is they are only 7in in length.... i need a lot more than that...?!
