what dvd are you trying to backup? Check the disc and see if it needs cleaning. Does the read error happen at the same place? This might suggest a scratch or something like it.

Instead of erasing all the files in the folder, just try and decrypt the particular VOB or file that decrypter is having trouble with. I did this to a dvd and decrypter was successful the 3rd time around. Sometimes repetition and brute resolve will work.

The disk is Charley's Angels. The disk looks brand new no scratches whatsoever.I tried to decrypt only the 2 files in question same results.I did not know this but in reading another post I learned that DVD Shrink can also decrypt so I tried that same results.I am stumped. Thanks for the assistance.

Hi,
This may sound crazy but have you tried ripping with your burner?
Sometimes reading slower will help.

good luck

Actually I always rip with my burner.I only have the combo unit so I don't have any choice. When I first started ripping I used to use Smart Ripper and when I discovered DVD Decripter I used it exclusively so tonight I downloaded a copy of Smart Ripper and guess what no problems.Strange I would still like to know if anyone has had these problems and why DVD Decrypter had problems. Thanks for everyones input.:)
