Well, first of all I somehow broke off the power/reset button. And it is way to small to solder. I did manage to tape it back in place with a paper-like sticker (only thing I have here that was sticky enough). Anyways just wondering if that is safe or if I should find another solution. Also some metal plate on the side is now loose.. I'm not sure if it was attached to the case or the board. I can still fit it back in place.. but I think a piece broke off (not sure what, some small metal piece I believe). If it helps the metal plate has a hole in it.. same with the case where it fits on the side. Is this safe? Or do I even need this plate at all. Anyways any info would be greatly appreciated. I have never taken apart a PS2 before, or any console for that matter, nor should I have.

You broke off the P/R button? Is it working (your PS2?)
What did you break of the button wire, board,or the little white button?
and the small metal peice with a hole is useless unless you intend to use Vertical stand you can throw it away if you want unless!

Yes, my PS2 is still working. Yes it was the little white button.. I was able to tape it back on the the right spot with some paper-like stickers.. I was just wondering if that was safe.. like if it can light on fire or anything. I see.. alright thanks for the info about the plate.

I dont think so why dont you use tape clear transparent tape cello tape. I think you can wrap it around the the little board(it's been like six months since I have seen it so I can't remember it well)

Ah.. so like a Scotch Tape then? I've never heard of this cello tape.

Sorry if I'm being a pain man. I know I should have been more careful.. problem was I don't know how to take the case off properly, and this is why this happened.. I just bought this PS2 not even a week ago, and I have no more money, this is why I really need to find a way to fix this, thanks for the help so far I really appreciate it.

I know.. it was a dumb move indeed. I was just trying to block the sensors so I could play PS1 backups.. I don't have the money for swap magic tools or a case mod at the moment, so I wanted to do it myself.

Alight I'll have a look around and see if I can find anything.

I see, PsPlease.. I thought NHS2008 meant it was fire hazardous with the current material I am using.. or am I mistaken?

Yeah I used to do that not for backups just for fun. Holding down sensors with pencil leads. you dont need to open your console for that.

I don't have much money either. it's a good thing that in India you get pre-modded consoles easily and most of the times cheaper than the once in retail stores. I on't think you have to worry about fire mate.
you wont even get a shock!

I see, I don't really need one.. since the tape I'm using is fine. But.. having one that's not broken would be great. But I don't have any money at the moment.
