I don't have the technical knowledge or correct SATA card to flash my 360 myself - I once tried to mod my PS2 myself and ended up ruining it. So I decided on taking the easy route and buying a premodded one.

I searched all over and only found extremely expensive sites or sites that don't ship outside of North America (I live in Europe and I want a US 360).

Then I stumbled upon this ad:

http://www.sell.com/22TWG1

Unfortunately, sell.com only accepts US registrations. But then I looked closely in the ad and found this link:

http://www.upgrade-central.com/

Now, the guy in the ad had some great feedback comments (all 4/4 stars), but the site isn't really reassuring. This is the cheapest I have seen when you include shipping.

So can I trust this site?

* A small question on the side: does Xbox Live require US billing address on US 360s?

To make things worse he has two different pages with different offers:

http://www.upgrade-central.com/xbox360.html

and

http://www.upgrade-central.com/catalog/p...&products_id=28

What should I do?

Ask around on here and other boards for a modder near you that will mod an xbox for half the price of paying those fools.

Well here's the deal.

I live in Israel and the local branch of Microsoft decided there was no point to try and fight the dominant PS2 here, so the Xbox 360 is not officially distributed.

It can only be bought from local importers at a high markup price (the premium sells for the equivalent of about $570).
Flashing it shouldn't be too much of a hassle here but getting the box itself would be quite costly. So after much consideration and research, this is the most convinient offer I have found.

The only thing that's holding me back is that the site is weird, and i'd hate to get ripped off. So if anyone could possibly check the site out and reassure or warn me that would be great.

Great, thanks.

BTW, do refurbished 360s have a significantly higher chance of recieving the rings of death?

No, some refurbs have been fixed to address the issues that cause the RROD problem so it might actually be a better, more reliable system. Especially if it has been done recently.

Wow, that's encouraging.

In that case, would this:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/...2203&CatId=3266

Be a good deal? They ship internationally and the wheel would be sweet for Forza.

I have bought alot of equipment from tigerdirct for many years and would highly recomend them. Good cheap, extremely fash shipping company. But I also live out of the state they are based in so items come very fast. I would go with tiger.
