Sup,

first time post here.

Here is the thing, I got my hitachi 59DJ drive into B-mode in Windows Vista. The problem is that when I double click on Flashix.bat file...nothing happens. Shouldn't a command prompt come up or something? is there something I need to download first? Don't know what else to do. I hope one of u guys out there is able to help me out. thx in advance homies.

thx for the reply, but I've tried that and it still doesn't work. I read in one of the forums that you need to download a command prompt program of some eyetoy thing, but I think that is only for Windows xp.

you need to copy your command.com into the same folder as flashix.bat and run the command

right after it tells me to type the drive letter and any 4 numbers. I did that, then it tells me that I am missing a Xtreme file.

sorry to bother again, but hotmail won't allow me to open the file. is there anyway you can upload it onto rapidshare or some other similar site? if that isn't a big deal for u.

update* I just found the new xtreme 2.3 firmware and it is saying the same thing. Warning: A required XTREME file is missing!. What is this XTREME File, and why is it missing? lol

i think i know what the proble is. I think it depends how long your root folder is. If it is too long it won't work. It has to be short, like C:\X-LG\FLASHIX.BAT (Drive Letter) (Four numbers)

Hope this helps out whomever stumbles into this problem in the future. ez

where did you get the the firmware from??

from other people with this problem, its because your not opening the .bat file from the same directory with the firmware...

other sites say make sure your X-LG folder is on the route of your C Drive,so
C:/X-LG
go to start-run and type cmd to open the command prompt then drag the flashix.bat into the command prompt..it should look something like this

AND THEN AFTER YOU DRAG IT IN(MAKE SURE YOU DELETE THE QUOTATION MARK AFTER FLASHIX.BAT THERE WILL BE ONE THERE)...
NOTE**YOU WONT HAVE THAT TOP FOLDER ITS MY ORIGINAL FIRMWARE LOL...

If your still having problems, try this. Google "WINBATCH" and download the file for your version of windows 2000/xp/vista etc. set it up on your computer. It will be a free trial version. you might have to restart you PC to make sure it's in the system. Click on "START", "MY COMPUTER" then "C:" and place the extreme folder in the C: drive. Open your extreme folder, go to the flash file your gonna use, example "FLASHIX", right click on the file on scroll down the list. you'll see a command called "Command Prompt here" left click on it and "winbatch" will open. click on "I agree" and command prompt will open. From there you just type, for example; FLASHIX D: 1356 then press enter. try that and see if it works. I had this same problem and thisworked for me.
