I installed 1.2 right off the bat after getting my 360. I can play all of the newer backups ok. But anything that seems to be made a while back(xtreme 2.3, 5.2, etc), I can't play. Even if it states the backup was stealth patched with DMI, PFI, and has SS, still won't work. Mainly games that came out in 07. I don't have a clue what to do with 06 backups.

Is there hope to salvage these backups, or nothing can be done except to find the originals and make another backup?

Are you using xdvdmulleter beta 9.7? If it says they are good there they should work.

I have at least 5 backups that come up in mulleter with all the check marks for DMI, PFI, xtreme compatible etc, and they still don't play. I have some older ones with none of those check marks as well.

Are the games that pass XDVDMulleter 9.7 burnt on Verbatim DVD+R DL discs? If not, welcome to why we tell everyone to use Verbs.

Yep, I use nothing but Verbatim.

Ok, I have slipped up a little, I admit. I was checking the iso files on the hard drive, and most of them except 1 checked out ok. There are the older ones of course that don't have dmi, pfi, ss, or xtreme checkmarks....I'm not sure what to do with them or how to rebuild them yet if possible.

Then I checked the discs themselves, and mulleter gives various errors with a lot of them. So it's either the drive(nec 3500ag) or the the media(verbatim dvd+r dl 2.4x).

Another weird thing is it's hit and miss with the unreadable disc error. I burn Tiger Woods 07, it's says unreadable, reboot and it works fine. Same thing with every backup it seems. Is that considered normal?

Nope. That's a sign of either a bad burn or the laser pot needing adjusting. I'd start with the burning. Did you update your burners firmware? How old is your burner? Not all burners which can burn dual layers can burn them good.

As for the non stealth backups. You'll need to rerip them to your hdd. Then use Mulleter to inject the dmi, pfi, and video.iso. The reburn it.

Burner is about 1-2 years old. I might grab a Pioneer 112d since they're only $30. I read that other ppl have success with the drive I use, nec 3500ag.

I'm trying a couple of new burns, and verifying them, with Imgburn now. Also moved the images to a new external drive, since my internal drive is severely fragmented. Keeping my fingers crossed:)

Thx for the advice.

Ok, burned Saints Row, 2.4x speed, verified. Put the disc through Mulleter as well, all check marks for dmi, pfi, ss, xtreme. The furthest it will load is to the first screen with the huge building. Sometimes it goes that far then freezes, sometimes it gives me the unreadable disc msg at various points before that.

I ordered a pioneer 112d just now. I sure hope the problem isn't these Verbatim dvd+r dl 2.4x 50 pack. The expensive 5 pack of 8x all burned with no problem. I've had 1 disc out of 8 work now from the 50 pack, and that's Tiger 2007 with the occasional hiccup while loading.

Be sure to post back after you've tried the new burner. Also, once you install it, you may still want to check the mfg's web site for firmware updates. It's always good to keep your burners firmware up to date.
