Hi! You're going to want to downgrade to 1.50 and then upgrade to custom Firmware 3.52 M33-4. This is the absolute most current and with the recent release of update #4, challeneges even D_A OE stability and compatibility. With this, you can play every game guarenteed without failure. It also has a sweet Sony No-UMD file, which lets you play any game without a UMD in the drive with a high compatibility (90~98%). No eloader reqiured, just place the file in the correct folder and you're done! Just go to game/memory stick/and select you game you want! CFM is the best way to do what you want with so many extra benefits!

There is no excuse NOT to mod! Don't follow the rules, make them!

This guide will take you through the steps of downgrading a 2.71 (Official) to 1.50. From there, follow the next steps once completed at 1.50.

This guide will help you install 3.52 M33. Follow those instructions.

As for the updating process, I havn't found a good guide, so I'll just tell you myself.

Download and extract it. Place the PSP and "seplugins" in the root directory of your memory stick (%:\PSP %:\seplugins). The seplugins should go in with no response needed. The PSP folder, just let it copy over. Once done turn off the PSP (not standby, off off). Then turn it back on while pressing and HOLDING the R-Trigger. Use the down button to scroll down to "plugins->" and press cross (the x). Go down one and press cross. As you see, this will "enable" the file. Now go "back->" and "exit->". It will now reboot normally. Go to Game/Memory Stick/3.33 Updater. Press cross and let it do its thing. Please ignore the text that comes up and just press cross. Once done, press cross and it will shut down. Boot it up again and you now have 3.52 M33-4 --- the most current and best. Remember to deep format your memory stick after changing the Firmware version each time in between changes. EX: deep format mem stick, downgrade to 1.50, deep format, upgrade to 3.52, deep format, update #4, deep format. This will just ensure that your memory stick does not become fragmented or corrupt during any part of the installation. As always, you must have a battery at least 75% full, full battery is recommended, with the AC Adpater inserted AT ALL TIMES! if you turn the system off, unplug it, stop it in any way shape or form DURING the firmware up/downgrade process, then you messed yourself up. As long as you don't stop it midway, you're fine with such a minimal change of bricking. And ... once you install 3.52, you can always (almost always) recover back to 1.50 God-forbid something goes wrong. There truely is a lot of fail-safes and backups in place with CFM.

There is no excuse NOT to mod! Don't follow the rules, make them!
