Hello. I'm currently in a vacation outside of America. I've been to Europe and i bought a PS3 there. Now i'm in Israel and someone that i know is offering me to switch my PAL PS3 to a NTSC PS3. Is it a good idea?
well if you live in north america then you should do it even though blu ray is region free dvds still are not so that means your ntsc dvd won't work on the ps3 you own now but if you don't need it for movies or download movies which are majorly pal i guesws you could just keep the one you have
Don't worry. I got the NTSC games thing covered. What i'm worried about is will the PS3 work in the USA (in electricity means) + i'm worried about if online games will work.
oh well if i'm not mistaken in europe the voltage is like 220 while in north america it's only 110 but to me those are just numbers don't really know what they mean

My uncle bought it for me in Europe while i was in vacation. In the states i kinda lack money :P.
I heard somewhere that the PS3 is compatible with both europe and america (in electricity means) i need someone to confirm that.
I suggest if you have the option to swap it then just do! Its better to have that peace of mind knowing it will definatly work.
Why not have a look at the back of your PS3 near the power socket - what does it say? If it says 100V-240V then it should be fine. If not then I think you'll need to buy a step down transformer (not a robot in disguise).
