Hi all,

I have a psp firmware version 3.03 oe-b. would it be of any benifit to upgrade to a higher firmware version. I use the psp for emulation and homebrew and ps1 and psp backups. Could anyone suggest a new firmware version and a place to dl them. I have noticed a few new games wont work is this because i need a newer firmware version?

Yes, upgrading your custom firmware will allow you to play the newer games. Try 3.52 M33-4, if it doesn't work properly then downgrade back to 1.50 and then up to 3.40 OE-A (For some people this is more stable)

3.52 M33-4 is the best. As of update #4, it fixed ~98% of the bugs that were introduced in 3.52 M33. It has Sony's UMD isocache image, which means that the No-UMD required has a high compatibility and faster load speed than OE. Most custom XMB are now released as either 3.5x M33 only or are released for M33, but you must wait an additional 1-2 weeks for the creator to convert the files into OE acceptable. With update #4, the stability rivals OE, not there just yet, but with the releas eof update #5 on the way, it is deffinently something to look forward to and invest in.
