huh...?so u cant upgrade back to 2.00 or something?or do u mean u need to install the full 1.5 file before u can upgrade to official fw?
I think what he means is if you were to downgrade from 3.52 with a Pandora battery, you would not be able to use official firmware above 3.30 just like if you were to downgrade a 3.50 using the Lumines game...Remember sony patched that?
Yeah but there's no worry because of custom firmware. Even if the people behind M33 custom firmwares quit, someone will take the job and continue making custom firmware.

My PSP Firmware History: 2.60 had to return the PSP because it had a dead pixel > new PSP had firmware 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.71 M33 > 3.71 M33 with 1.50 kernel

dEEz_nUtz yes thats what i was saying, but i also found out that unlike any other method of downgrading if you have 3.50 and above unless you are always going to use old custom firmware downgrading will mean you can never return to sony's offical firmware.

I dont know why anyone would want to go back to official firmware once they had a taste of custom firmwares anyway-and I am sure that eventually once the new PSP-2000 comes out, Sony will end up discontinuing updates and support for the original PSP-just like what Microsoft does for their Windows products....They want people buying the new product...

Also you would still be able to revert to official firmware if need be, but you just would not be able to update any higher than 3.30 official fw if you downgraded from 3.50 using lumines, or if you downgraded a 3.51/.52 using the Pandora battery. And besides, custom firmware is just like using official fw-except it has the capability to run unsigned code...

You can go back to official firmware. You just need to get 1.50 Recovery Winstaller and let your custom firmware take you down to 1.5, the full version by accessing the recovery menu. And you can go to any firmware after that.. right?

PSP Firmware History:

2.71 -> Got PSP modded (Waste Of Money) 3.40 -> Downloaded DAX's 3.40 OE-A -> 1.5 -> 1.53 -> 1.5 -> 1.53 xD -> 1.5 -> 3.40 OE-A -> 1.5 -> 3.52 m33 -> 3.52 m33-2 -> 3.52 m33-3 -> 3.52 m33-4 -> 1.5 -> 3.52 m33-4 -> 1.5 -> 3.71 m33 -> 3.80 m33 ->3.80 m33-3 -> 3.80 m33-5 -> 1.5 -> 3.71 m33 -> 3.71 m33-4 -> 3.80 m33 -> 3.80 m33-5

For the most part, yes...Except when you downgrade an official 3.50 and above PSP-you wont be able to revert back to official firmware greater than 3.30 because of the "security" patch sony put in....

pandora battery will unbrick any psp as well as downgrade any psp to 1.50 but you will not be able to use the battery normally again
This is unture follow the steps below so you can recover your battery after you unbrick/downgrade your PSP.

Quick guide to converting your battery written by jas0nuk

If you only have one battery and want to unbrick your PSP, you can.

1) Convert your battery into a jigkick one using "Pandora's Battery Creator", but before you press X,
press TRIANGLE to backup your battery's EEPROM to ms0:/eeprom.bin

2) Unbrick your PSP as normal

3) When you are done unbricking, take out the battery and the magic memory stick. Start up the PSP
using the AC adaptor (do not try to use a USB charger, it will not start up)

4) Insert the magic memory stick and the magic battery

5) Run "Pandora's Battery Creator" again

6) Press L+R to restore the ms0:/eeprom.bin to your battery

NOTE: You can also restore a battery without having made a backup, by pressing SQUARE at step 6. This will generate
a fake serial for your battery (0x12345678) which allows it to work normally, but there could be side-effects.

Have fun, and thanks to everyone in the Prometheus/C+D team.
If i do that with my 3.52 firmware, once it gets back to normal then would i upgrade to 3.52mm3 (or whatever it's called) and play homebrew?

ROCK ON!!! 60's,70's,80's,90's Rock! and PSP!!

omfg, i think im getting sick of this.

FIRST OFF:

You need someone with OE/M33/WILDCARD/1.5 or any homebrew enabled PSP.

Secondly yes, it will do something to ur battery but you can restore it, if needs be.

PSP Firmware History:

2.71 -> Got PSP modded (Waste Of Money) 3.40 -> Downloaded DAX's 3.40 OE-A -> 1.5 -> 1.53 -> 1.5 -> 1.53 xD -> 1.5 -> 3.40 OE-A -> 1.5 -> 3.52 m33 -> 3.52 m33-2 -> 3.52 m33-3 -> 3.52 m33-4 -> 1.5 -> 3.52 m33-4 -> 1.5 -> 3.71 m33 -> 3.80 m33 ->3.80 m33-3 -> 3.80 m33-5 -> 1.5 -> 3.71 m33 -> 3.71 m33-4 -> 3.80 m33 -> 3.80 m33-5

Yeah, theres a thread that has been stickied on the first page of this forum found HERE-which will explain how to make a pandora battery, as well as how to use it...If you have problems afterwards-You should start a thread of your own detailing the problem you are having rather than hijacking other threads...

^^^ Dont forget we have the pandora battery now..In fact just earlier today I downgraded two psp's, both of which had the newest 3.71 firmware on it in case anyone was wondering if it works with the newer firmwares...

Mods-I think we could probably stick a fork in this thread-3.52 firmware can indeed be downgraded....

creaky? ddp? anyone??

pandoras software says:
------------------------
REQUIREMENTS
- A spare PSP Battery. Any make will do. Using a spare is best, as it
will not be possible to boot the PSP in its normal state with the
modified battery.
- A spare Memory Stick Pro Duo of less than 4Gb. (256Mb should be
enough for all applications).
- A PSP with a Custom Firmware such as OE, M33 or WC, or a PSP with
the 1.5 original kernel.

-----------------------
so i tried fist to downgrade my psp 3.52 with 3.52M33CREATOR
i ended up to to see a picture of galaxy in my psp game memorystick root which was named 3.52 M33 CREATOR .....and i was happy but then it ended up to message :
the game could not be started (80020148)

...so i guess we need to wait...beacuse pandora REQUIRES that Custom Firmware such as OE, M33 or WC to work right? -pft i say.

that's where you should've stopped. 3.52 m33 creator will only work if you're on 1.5 or custom firmware.

if you're lucky enough, you might have a friend/family member who has a psp that can be downgraded. i was fortunate to have a cousin who had a firmware 2.00

before trying anything, do you have access to a custom firmware psp? you will need to use one, as it is the only way to create the stuff needed for a psp slim.

my pleasure. To any lazy posters in this thread - READ the info you've been given and do some searching for yourselves. Stuff like this is raised ans ANSWERED 100s of times a week. Exercise those brains and leave the regulars to answer genuine problems.
