I was woundering if there is anyway that you can rip the files off a ps2 game onto your computer and mangle with some files than burn them so that the ps2 thinks its an actual game

as far as i know. that's not possible, because the original ps2 games are written on hard pressed discs, and the usual cd/dvd readers can't read and then write all the info on stored on that cd/dvd (there's something like a boot sector that says "i'm an original ps2 disc"), so playing imports/backups w/o a modded ps2 is yet impossible

o ok thanks, also is there any way I can take apart the indside of my ps2 so it will work, but without a modchip....and I know all aboout soft modding,memory card exploit,etc

well... with swap magic... and the taking apart part, just covering some switches with tape... dunno anything else

Oh there's also a new product coming out called "VAST". It's a special memory card for the PS2 that boots an OS to allow you to boot ELF files and run backup discs.

Either $30 or you can wait for FREEVAST.

FREEVAST

Once they release the VAST files, you can just download it put it on a memory card and boot it. Yes any normal memory card.

omg that is so awesome thanks. I just hate having to use a slide card everytime, and no, I dont want to buy anything such as swap magic.
