ive asked this twice before but nobody ever answeres!?!?!
i want to join xbox live. i have xtreme firmware. every time i try to sign up, i get a message saying i must update the console firmware. if i update the console firmware, will i still be able to play my backups?

PLEASE ANSWER

how about you stop asking the same question over and over and do a little bit of searching then?????? but yes you will still be able to play your dang backups.

The reason no one answers is most likely that this question gets asked all the time, so the answer is already here in the forums if you search.

1. will the update effect your hacked firmware- not at the moment
2. will you still be able to play back ups- yes
3. will you get banned from live for playing them online- no one knows

On a side note updates are 100% needed once you join Live. If you refuse to update a game you can not play it on XBL, If you refuse a console update you can not connect to XBL.
