elite and hdmi frustrating!!!!

ok guys i had posted earlier about my 61" (older) samsung dlp giving me a non secure hdcp signal so i went out and bought a westinghouse 32" HDTV SK-32H240S.so i switch my xbox to 1080i and play a game no probs. i have it hooked up via hdmi. so i put in a movie(backup) and when the movie starts the xbox starts switching resolutions continuously! it only stops when i shut off hte xbox and turn it back on. when i put in an original dvd it plays at 1080i no prob. anyone know why it does this with a backup? now here is the kicker---when i plug in via component the backup doesnt cause the 360 to change resolution!!! it is driving me crazy!!!

try setting the 360 to 720p instead of 1080

might solve your problem.

i tried putting the res on 720p but the same thing happens. its really strange. has anyone else tried upconverting a backup movie?
