I have made several successful backups of my 360 games but have bought some new games recently that I have problems with and can't find any info in forums to help me fix it. For instance...I got NCAA Football 08, and just like always I use XBOX Backup Creator to rip....stealth check ok....I burn it as always and says it's sucessful. Only now when I put this game in and the XBOX is reading the disk it says it is "mixed media disk" i have tried burning with nero, dvd decrypter, clone cd, clone dvd and always get the same thing. Have burnt 14 coasters with several different games....lost planet, fantastic 4, transformers, def jam icon,the bigs and nascar08....anyone seen a similar problem and if so what I need to do to fix would be greatly appreciated
Key questions that need answered:
1.What drive do you have for your 360?
2.What firmware are you using?
3.Are you burning the iso's through XBC via the Nero burning engine or actually using Nero?
As far as I know XBC has yet to have the ability to make iXtreme compatible ISOs. The iXtreme FW will not boot any disc thats not iXtreme formatted as a precaution for Xbox Live security checks to avoid banning. With that being said your other older discs shouldn't boot. Let me see what I can dig up. Can you post your XBC log fie so I can see if I can find anything in it that would cause it.
you must have misunderstood....i have been making GOOD backups for quite awhile until just recently when I got these new games. I use a sammy SH-D162C external dvd drive with kreon v.84 to make a stealth patched iso using XBC 2.5. I then burn using XBC and nero burning engine on a Sony DRU-840A DL burner. Everything is as it was b4 except these new games say"mixed media disc" when I try to play them on my 360. It made me think the games couldn't be backed up because of some new copy protection or something but I can't find any info where this has happened. Not sure what the problem is...has me very perplexed!!
Hmmm... a couple things that caught my eye
1.I had problems with 2 different Sony DRU-8xx series burners. After a few months I started getting coasters with them.
2.You wrote that you have Kreon v.84 for the SH-D162C. Unless its hosted somewhere else, Kreon only officially went up to v.81 (when did you flash to v.84 and where was it hosted?)
3.Its not the games because I have backed up NCAA 08, Lost Planet, and Def Jam ICON with no problems.
download schtrom 3.3 the latest version and then just use xbox back up creator without the nero check on it to burn to dual layer dvd. and kreon only went upto .81 not .84 well not that i know of.
ove backed up all the games you have done and bioshock with no problem at all use schtrom 3.3 the latest 1 and c if that works.
check your bitsetting again make sure its set to dvd0rom i dont know why but it might have changed and when u use other programmes to burn u need to set the layer break too dont forget that any thing little will cause a none working back up
thanx for the suggestions and replys but i figured out the problem. in XBC in drive tools there is a button "unlock drive"....i clicked that twice then read/rip game and everything is a ok. if i don't unlock that drive it looks like i get a good rip...then when i burn it, it too appears to be a good burn but something is not right because the game won't load. when i click unlock drive button everything looks just as it does when i don't click that button but my backup now works as it should.....just wanted to share this info so if anybody else has same issue just try the "unlock drive" button.
