I bought my Wii in January and I live in Canada, and I'm going to get my Wii modded tomorrow. I've read around the forum about "PAL" and "NTSC" and I wanna know if I can download games with both, and how to tell which my Wii originally plays.

Also, I updated the firmware recently. Will a mod chip still work? And how would it get "bricked"?

I Read the sticky again and it says I can use PAL and NTSC if I'm using the latest firmware, but then the chip wouldn't work?

In the Wii settings it should either say 3.0U or 3.0E. U is NTSC and E is PAL.

You can brick the Wii if you update your Wii with a different region game.

There are 3 different region's for the Wii. U=North America U=Europe J=Japan

You can pretty much be 100% safe if you keep your Wii updated with most resent firmware plus use Wii brick Blocker on Game disc that of a different region then your Wii.
