DVD+RW Plays Audio but No Video in DVD Player

I recorded a movie on a DVD+RW disc using a Magnavox MWR10D6 video recorder. The movie plays back fine on the Magnavox, but on my DVD player it plays back audio but no video. The DVD player is AMW S99, and I'm recording through a satellite box. The cable connections are fine, and commercial DVDs play fine on the DVD player. Any insight would be appreciated.

your Magnavox recorder writes a different format on the DVD than what your player can play! You would have to convert the files to DVD compliant files and then you can view it on a regulard DVD played in a stand alone DVD player. Your DVD will play in the Magnavox but not the other players, unless it can play the format that your Magnavox records in.

How do I convert the disc to DVD compliant files? Do I need a computer with a DVD recorder drive?

I'm not sure about stand alone DVD recorders. I know they sometimes record in a different format than regular burners do. You would have to go into a different forum and ask there. Try posting your question here, in the DVD Recorder forum: http://forums.afterdawn.com/forum_view.cfm/109

You will get more of a response from others that know about stand alone DVD Recorders. good luck.
