I'm having some problems getting my 360 flashed (its a ms25). I installed a blaster 360, and all went well. After the install I checked and I could still get into the dashboard and play games.

I started up iPrep, selected my new firmware, selected my nForce SATA controller. (its a 650i based mobo) it created my usb stick no problems.

after booting into the usb stick, I constantly got "no drive detected". I tried many suggestions from this forum, nothing worked.

finally I resorted to trying to hex edit mtkflash myself with the values I found in msinfo32.exe.

I did this and when I booted I no longer got "No drive detected" but got a "VIA 6421 Master" and "VIA 6421 Slave". I selected the master and it just hung.

Now I can't get my BIOS to detect the drive anymore and I cant get the xbox to boot period, the start button just flashes red.

I've read that if I get a true VIA vt6421L that I can repair it. Any help please? I really hope I didn't just brick $400.

well that question is worded very badly.

but anyhow ill take a crack at it.

if i read correctly u modded your xbox 360 with the ixtreme firmware.
and when u hook it up to the computer u gtet a no drive error.

are u puting the 0800 disc or Activate disc to take down the firmguard.

that could be your problem right there

Sorry for the confusion.

No I'm still on the iDump step, I havent been able to even come close to flashing yet. That's why I'm worried.

I haven't been able to backup the original firmware, but for some reason doing the iDump step with a hex-edited mtkflash has totally screwed up my DVD drive now.

hex editing is not good unless you know what your doing... did you do it or did you download it? i dont know much about 360 but hex editing can be bad if you mess up or edit the wrong thing

I dont know about the live f/w's but hex editing out of an exe file does not sound like the way to go?? I incorrectly flashed mine and turnign the drive on at difrent times during the boot seemed to make it register with the computer after about 4 hours. Im still using xtreme 5.0a heh.
