This is my first time trying to back up a game and i'm having a hell of a time. ive ruined 6 dual layer discs. Here is what i do. I hope someone can help.
1. I use the hotswap method to get a raw dump of the game using wxripper, Fight Night Round 3 to be exact. The movie i use initially was the matrix. it was about 7.8 gigs.
2. After i had the raw dump i used ss merger v1.7 to merge the iso file the ss.bin. I wasn't able to go online and confirm the ss file was right because i've read that the ss merger host site is down.
3. i then opened up my newly created .dvd file and deleted the first line which said "line break = 1913760" and kept the line that said fnr3.iso.
4. lastly i opened the .dvd file with ImgBurn, but before i burned it at 2.4X speed, i changed a setting for layer break. Instead of it being automatic, i put the layer break at 1913760.
so when i put in the disc in the 360, it says To run this disc, put it in an xbox 360. The original disc works perfectly still, so hopefully that is not the problem. anyways, if anyone has any insight into my problem, id really appreciate it as i would not like to waste any more time and money. thanks.
and also it depends on what firmware you have i dont use wxripper method but dont know if you get proper stealth from that so cant help you there but do try to set your booktype on your dual layer burner to dvd-rom
use this site to download redlines99's xbox back-up creator (xbc) it on most games will apply the stealth patch for you, if it cant, you can download them for bittorrent sites and it will check stealth with the click of one button. but try this site for kreon firmware, no one can find it and i found it in abotu 20 seconds, if you dont have the latest firmware some games may not work
What firmware do you have? The video parion might be wrong so get XDVDMulleter and open up the iso.Go under the video tab and click insert video and wait until it completes.I use the same method and use SSmerger to insert the SS.BIN,(and if you have iextreme)the DMI.BIN and the PFI.BIN.After that open up the ISO and do what I told you with XDVDMulleter
