Well this is how it goes, I bought a Japanese Wii and i have no idea what game semi-bricked it. I only know the first game i tried out on it was the english version of zelda twilight princess. I dont know if it was already semi-bricked or if I semi-bricked it, but the thing is I dont know if its a japanese Pal or ntsc so once a 3.0j game disc come out i can buy it. How do i find out what version it is?

Look at the serial# of the Wii...

If it starts with LEH or LAH then its a PAL Wii.

If it starts with a LU then its a North American Wii (USA).

If it starts with a LJH then its a Japaneses Wii.

When it comes to firmware there are 3 different firmware regions...

E = Europe (PAL)
U = North America NTSC(U)
J = Japan NTSC(J)

silly question.... where is this serial number located on the wii?

and... if i already have burned games, how can i tell if they're SMTP or PAL ? (i got them from a friend)

There are 3 regions for game disc.

NTSC(U) = North America (USA)
MTSC(J) = Japaneses
PAL = Europe

Theres a program called Wii brick Blocker which you can get HERE.

Make sure you get the 1.3 version. After you set it up you can load an ISO into the program and choose "Read Info" and it will tell you what region the game is.
