I was looking on gbatemp forums about mp3 playing on PAL wii's.
i found this little tutorial:

So here's what you do [I have 3.0E on my Wii]
1. Updated the iso with RegionFrii.
2. Burned the dvd iso @ 18x speed on a Verbatim -R disc via Nero 7.
3. Wrote Metroid Prime 3: Corruption [RegionFrii] on the disc once it was finished burning
4. Updated the already updated RegionFrii iso with BrickBlocker.
5. Burned once again the iso @ 18x speed on an other Verbatim -R disc via Nero 7.
6. Wrote Metroid Prime 3: Corruption [BrickBlocker] on the disc once it was finished burning.
7. Inserted the RegionFrii one into the Wii. Ran from Disc Channel. It wanted to do a update, press OK and then I Accept. Then it will load REALLY slow. When it has loaded for 10-15% I removed the powercable to the Wii.
8. I then reinserted the powercable and started the Wii. Then I took out the RegionFrii disc, and inserted the BrickBlocker disc.
9. Viola, the game works like a clock and there are NO EXTRA TWO CHANNELS! :)

I personally havnt done this of fear of something going wrong when unplugging the wii in the update but MANY people on that forum say it works.

Anyone that tries it please post here to say what happened. I didnt make it, im just trying to help out those who want metroid!

i would never advise u pull the plug on anything that is doing an update if its flashing firmware or overwriting system files it may never boot again

anyone who follows this advice must be seriously lacking in judgement cells

Well I have tried it, and it works for me just fine, but maybe I'm just plain stupid... :P

To be or not to be... you know maybe... thats the question.

I can vouch that it works. I was skeptic, but board so I thought I?d give it a go. You don?t have to wait until 10-15%. I waited a very short time, around 5%, perhaps not even that.

The first time I put the 1st disk in it had an read error, but when I put it in a second time it was fine, ran the update, powered off and on, ran the 2nd and I?m playing now. I was so excited I even joined afterdawn just to tell you guys!

I?m off to play.

I'm using a WiiKey bennasher, with the 1.2 firmware. And I'm actually an Aussie.

Just played a bit then, I'm pretty happy with it. Controls are awesome, i reckon ill buy it when it gets over here.

any news on this? I have 3.0e, and I have both the regionfrii and the brick blocker disc now, but I'm not really sure if I want to try this out.. I don't like the possible consequences really.. who in here can confirm this to work?

Alright everyone!

3.0E here. I burnt both the regionfrii and the brickblocker disc. I inserted the regionfrii one first, and unplugged wii when it was about 10 percent into the update. Plugged it in again and now it reads the disc fine, and I ain't got no duplicate channels. I don't even think I used the brick blocker disc.

So at least this worked fine for me.

Oh ok so you can use the regoinfrii disk again, thats weird. I would have thought it would have tried to update again. Good to hear another has worked.

I bunrt at 4x in imgburn. Im using imation media.

I think its pretty hard to say wether it will cause problems later on or not. Of course it will increase the risk, nintendo could use the fact that my console is a PAL and the game isnt released here yet, or maybe even see that Metroid update to the console has been done (in our case attempted) and brick the console from that. It?s a higher risk, if your that unsure wait until pal.

The only reason Ive done it is that Im prepared to buy another wii if I need.

And if that need arrives ill ship a NTFS one from the states so I might actually get the games on time.

Hey all, I read this forum a lot, great info but posted only a couple of times before..

Have a PAL wii, 2.2E and was sceptical about the said method to play MP3C without bricking my wii but took a chance and it works!

Let the bar update about a quarter of the way, then unplugged the wii, put the brickblocker disc in and im now playing the game.

Awesome.
