i wanna get a Wii but is there a softmod to it? I wanna mod it to where i don't have to open it up...and how hard is it to install a modchip...keep it mind that i am a SUPER n00b!

No there is no a softmod.

4 to 5 on scale when it comes to a newbie soldering the Modchip in.

I'd rate it a 6 if it's got the legs in tact, 9 if not.

I'd go with the "take it to a pro" advice if I were you.

If you have the right tools then i agree with larry, having a good flux pen will make the soldering very easy, especially the wiikey wired install.

If you are just getting a Wii, you will most likely end up getting a D2C chipset version. This means that ther is no mod chip that you can install that will work.

If you knew that it was a D2A/D2B chipset, that I'd say go a head. My Wiikey has been great for imports on my D2A console. I just wish that Nintendo had never region locked the console...
