so now that this game has been out for a day, what do you all think about it; other than the fact that no-one can get the stupid face photo to work through easportsworld.com?

Its not bad, i bought it because i have 07 and 06 aswell. A lot more courses, the 3click swing feature is brutal, far too hard, and the stick swing seems to be more sensitive aswell, a couple of nice features are the draw and fade are easier to do, and the power boost can now be worked from the A button which for a left hander is a god send. I also like the putting, (i especially like the light saber sound that comes on when u press LB when putting)
Quick question, i dont play it online cos couldnt b bothered getting my arse handed to me by a 7 yr old chinese kid! So can you upload the profile pic to work by sticking in a usb storage key with them on it? what format do they have to be if you can.

no, the only way to do the picture is either with the stupid microsuck webcam, or through ea sports.

haha, i think thats the same one it created for one of my house mates!!! however though, it did randomly create a guy that almost looks like i do. guess i just got lucky.

Yes Trevor, You was in a terrible accident. Every day we have to keep telling you this hoping one day it will all come back to you. But ever day you forget. And sorry that the plastic surgery did not go as planned. We did the best we could with what we had. If you look to your right you will find a small bottle. Take 1 of those pills and get some rest. Personally i liked 06, and play 07 all the time. But 08 is just too darn picky even on the lowest settings. It is more frustrating then it is fun.
1. The 3 click hitting system is a waste for most fans of the game. Not to mention nearly impossible to get right. They should have thought the meter through more and made it easier to hit the right spot. Like having a green section bordered by a yellow section then a red section. This way you knew exactly where your sweet spot is.
2. The analog swing which most people are use to is the same, other than the fact that even the slightest mistake on your swing will send you ball flying off course. Way too sensitive. And trying to use the power boost while swinging, well that makes it three times as hard to get a good swing off.
3. building up a custom character with the new features gives you a little more control over the process with a more fine tuned system. But it is also a lot harder understand and get use to, and will take you longer to go through then the system in 07 which was more basic, and easy to use.
4. gaining experience points with a created golfer in 08 is just way too hard. As above it is more frustrating then it is fun. I know that you should be a noob and not be out there hitting balls 300 yards, or have perfect skills. But beating the computer opponents for this takes more then most people will have to start out. Even switching to the easiest level of the game will not really help you as the CPU skill level really doesn't go down any. In 07 i am an all around Good golfer. In 08 i can't even seem to beat the first round of challenges in chipping and driving.
It is a real shame that they have made the controls so sensitive and the AI so hard. I understand that they should get harder as your skill level builds but your should at least be able to build a few skills before they start crushing you. I looked so forward to this games release and ran right out to get it. NOW i wish i would have saved my money for something better as i still play 07 instead.

i agree for the most part with the statement above. but using turbo is actually easier since you get to use the A button. and the 3 click is freaking retarded. i give props to anyone that can actually use it. and does any know if the picture thing works now?

not sure what you mean, you use the A button in Tiger Woods 07 as well so that has not changed.

ya i know the A buttonw as used in 07, but if you use that for turbo instead of left bumper, why is it hard for to hit a straight shot? and for the picture thing i was refering to the game face option.

when i am mashing on that button while trying to swing it just gets off a little to the right or left. In 07 you can still hit a decent shot. In 08 it is too touchy and you hit the ball all over the place.
Now i am not talking about using an established golfer with all of this. Sure if i play as Tiger Woods it is not so bad. But using your created golfer is a real challenge even on the easiest level of the game. There is no learning curve to this game. You have to be good from the very start and even people who are good at 07 will find it quite a challenge to make a golfer and get some experience points.
