I got a regular PSP at version 2.71. I want to downgrade to 1.5 and then upgrade to 3.03 OE-C. I figured the easiest way to do this would be with wininstallers.

So I got the 2.71 -> 1.5 downgrader full version from xtrusion found here:
http://psp.xtrusion.es

And the 1.5 -> 3.03 OE-C upgrader found here:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/460892

I was looking for a step to step guide for downgrading, finally found one here:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/about17935.html

How does the upgrader work, do I need to put these downgraders/upgraders on my memory stick?

Will a 128MB mem card work for this operation or should I use my newly bought 4GB mem card?

Does everything look right so this should work?

All advice is greatly appreciated, I don't want to mess up.

Thanks to everyone for enlightening me!

are you sure that you have the non TA-082 mobo?
if you are then try this one:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/7x8r39

for you to be able to DG to 1.5

your link for 3.03oe-c is good

128mb should be enough for all of it...
note:
read them carefully and follow the instructions precisely..

Sig under re-construction... sorry creaky i didn't see your request.. im sorry for real..

Okay, so I am running 3.03 OE-C now!

Now I would like to know:

1. Can I delete the 3.03 flasher files left by the win-installer?

2. How do I change the background to an image?

3. Where do I put the game files (and what files? .iso or .bin,etc.) on the psp?

4. I have a friend who is on firmware 3.30, is there a way for him to downgrade to 1.5 or get to a custom firmware?

5. What can you do when you have corrupt data?

EDIT
I made a folder called ISO on the root of my memory card and put ISOs in it. The games show up on my memory card and everything looks good, but when the games try to boot it freezes to a black screen or says the game couldn't be started, what is wrong?

What does it mean when the PSP says: "The game could not be started. (80020148)"

Also, I changed my homebrew kernel to 1.50.

Thanks to everyone for enlightening me!

-first format your MS on your Psp. make sure you have umd game inserted in the umd drive for you to be able to play games. put the ISO games in the iso folder ms0:/ISO/ and then the game you want.

NOTE:
do not extract the iso file onto MS. just copy it and put it into your MS.

-you can change your background image in the theme settings under the settings in the XMB. Go to the settings>themesettings>background>use
