I have an Australian PSP and I bought the movie 28 Days Later also in Australia, but it says the region code is not correct, yet both items are the same region, Region 4 if I'm not mistaken, does anyone know why the UMD will not play? or if there are any region hack codes I could try?

yes that helps version 3.40 is the firmware to use the fake region you will need a custom firmware,to do this you can either upgrade to 3.50 official firmware(no higher)then downgrade to 1.50 using the 3.50 downgrader but you will need an unpatched version of lumines(umd not iso) or you can use the pandora's battery method to downgrade all of which can be found here on afterdawn along with tutorials on how to do these things,once you manage to get to 1.50 you can then upgrade to a custom firmware e.g. 3.40oe or 3.52m33 once on custom firmware you can do almost anything with your psp
